Hi Stampers! Today’s card features a whole bunch of circles, and a sentiment from the new Friend Like You stamp set. It was fun to make this card, because of all of the circles!
There are only two colours on this card: Grapefruit Grove and Pool Party. The card base is Thick Whisper White cardstock because I want the card to stand up properly, instead of slowly sliding down onto the shelf. I loosely CASE’d the design from one that appeared in a well-aged Paper Crafts magazine.
Creating the circles is easy. Pull out your circle punches and dies, and punch some out. For those that are rings, punch the inner circle first, and then go back with a larger punch/die and cut the outer rim. This gives you greater control over what the ring will look like. You can see that not all of mine are even. This was done deliberately, to give a bit of interest to the circles.
You can find the sentiment in the new Friend Like You stamp set. The set is sitting on my table, but the only stamp used so far is this one. Embossing the words using white embossing powder ensures that it doesn’t overpower the card. Can you imagine what it would look like if you stamped it in black? Too strong! You can also stamp it in Pool Party, to give it a tone on tone look.
Although I have barely cracked it open, I’m looking forward to using this set. It has a set of coordinating dies, which allow you to cut grasses and flowers. I’m hoping to pull it all out in the next day or two.
