Good morning stampers! I’m sharing a gold embossed Free as a Bird birthday card today. I received this one back in June from one of my fellow demonstrators, and I love the elegant simplicity of it.
Laura Seki created this card, and it is stunning because all of the traditionally stamped areas are gold! It’s easy to create this look with gold embossing powder and Versamark ink.
As you know, I enjoy using the ‘birds on a branch’ stamp from the Free as a Bird stamp set. Laura paired them with an appropriately sized (and retired!) Happy Birthday sentiment. To make sure that your sentiment is centred in your Stitched Nested Label die cut, stamp/emboss it before cutting.
The little bit of colour on the card comes from the flowers which were fussy cut from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper. It’s an easy way to add a hint of colour without taking out all of your colouring tools.
Can you see the little bit of texture on the Very Vanilla cardstock? Laura ran it through her die cutting machine with the Subtle embossing folder. The heat embossing was done after this step.
After wrapping the front panel with Linen Thread, she glued it to the Petal Pink cardstock base. The sentiment was popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and a small rhinestone added to the centre of the flower.
