It’s Flamingo Friday, and today’s card is both flirty and friendly. I adore the colours on this project, and you can use them in combination in a lot of different situations.
The card base itself is made of Flirty Flamingo cardstock, with a piece of beach themed Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper glued to the front. This DSP is full of pastel colours, and coordinates with all of the products in the Sand & Sea Suite. Flamingos like water and sand, so there are lovely patterns that can cross over.
The flamingo itself was die cut from Flirty Flamingo and Basic Black cardstock with the Flamingo Dies. The wings are layered on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and I added a very tiny piece of black cardstock behind his eye. The beak was coloured using one of the Basic Black Stampin’ Blends.
Before we glue him to the layer below, we need to create the layer below. A piece of white cardstock was embossed with the Subtles Embossing Folder and glued to black cardstock. I wrapped three pieces of the white twine from the Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack. You can never go wrong with adding thin twine/thread to a project.
The Friendly Flamingo sentiment itself was stamped in Memento Ink, with a small flower stamped on top. I die cut the circle using one of the Stitched Shapes Dies. It too has been popped up on the card using one of the large Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally, I added 5 of the Matte Black Dots that are in the January-June 2021 Mini Catalogue. I bought these to use in my scrapbooks, but I keep adding them to cards as well. There are 160 in a pack, in 2 different sizes, and very versatile to add to many types of projects.
