*Tutorial * Colouring the cupcake with Stampin’ Blends

Good morning! Today’s Hello Cupcake card is a bit different from those that you’ve seen, because I decided to try colouring the cupcake with Stampin’ Blends.

Colouring the images from the Hello Cupcake stamp set gives you a solid background behind the swirls. I saw a very similar card on Pinterest that I liked, and decided to try colouring the cupcake with Stampin’ Blends.

Below you’ll find a very quick rundown of the items needed to create this card. The cupcake pieces were stamped with regular Classic Ink, and additional colour added with the Stampin’ Blends. For the wrapper, I alternated between light and dark Daffodil Delight. No blending required!

Mint Macaron is a great colour for the icing. Colour the entire section with the light Blend, and then add some of the dark colour where the swirls are. I did blend this a bit so that you didn’t have lines between the light and dark, although if you add the dark colour right away, it starts to blend all on its own with little help from you.

Stamp the heart with Lovely Lipstick Classic Ink, and then fill it in with the dark Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Blend. Quick and easy!

The one item that I forgot to add in the above photo is my Early Espresso Stampin’ Write marker. Once you have finished colouring the cupcake, add some lines to it! It’s a whimsical stamp set, so your freehand lines will also be whimsical. If you slightly miss a line, just add a second one beside it. It’s a great way to cover up a mistake – no one will ever know!

For the swirls at the bottom. I coloured the lines with the Early Espresso marker, and add the Crumb Cake. You can see a bit of bleeding of the Early Espresso marker, but I like it because it’s not so sharp.

Normally I’m very good at adding sticky notes to the back of my cards so that I can give credit to those that I find inspiration from, but this time I completely forgot. I’ll keep looking, and will add credit to this post if I find the card.
