Happy Friday! I have two bright cards to share today. These feature two different card layouts with the Picture This Dies. Perfect for a dull, showery Friday afternoon. My lawn was dormant in May/June due to lack of rain, and now it’s lush and green. We can’t mow it down because it won’t stop raining! Not that I’m complaining… We’ll begin with the slightly easier card, although they’re both easy to make.
Both of these cards were created during last night’s Facebook Live demonstration. The Just Jade card is more basic because the main panel hasn’t been embossed or popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The panel was die cut with the rectangles die from the Picture This die set. It’s actually the first time that I have used it on a card. Up until now I have used the circles die exclusively – but I love them both. Have a look at the stitching around the rectangles because it isn’t even, something that you don’t generally see on dies with ‘stitching’.
The Calypso Coral card does have an embossed and popped up layer that has been cut with the Picture This circles die. The stitching isn’t as prominent because of the embossing, but it is visible and adds just an extra ‘wow’ to anyone that really looks at it.
The Sweet Symmetry Designer Series paper has been cut just a bit smaller than the die cut panels, so that it doesn’t peek out from underneath. This isn’t a concern with the Just Jade card because it has all be glued flat to the card base. It is something to consider on the second one where they are separated by dimensionals. Don’t forget that this DSP is on sale at 15% off this month.
The colour scheme for these cards was pulled directly from the Sweet Symmetry DSP pack. I didn’t use any Bumblebee on the cards, although I certainly could have. I have added the Colour Chip to the Resources Page. Make sure you bookmark the link!
The last items that I want to quickly point out (with the help of 4 images!) are the sentiments which have been stamped in black. Stampin’ Up! has two stamp sets (Many Messages & Many Happenings) as well as a single die that cuts a bunch of sentiments & phrases in just 2 steps. Simply stamp the entire stamp onto a piece of cardstock, line up the sentiments using the hearts & stars as a guide, and then cut them all at once with a single die. *Tip* Check the backside of the paper before you remove the die because you may need to put it through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine a second time to ensure that all are cut properly.
These are the two stamp sets. Remember that each is one single stamp! I used two phrases from the Many Happenings set on last night’s cards.
As I mentioned, the die cuts everything at once. To help you see what this looks like, I have the ‘official’ photo, as well as my photo of all of the die cuts adhered to my cardstock guide.
What a selection!!! Whenever you use these sets, you’ll end up with a stack of ready-to-go phrases for your projects. Or, you can always ink up just one, and die cut the words. Regardless, I have a small bucket of these sitting in my stamp room, ready for use.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to pop over to watch last night’s Facebook Live demonstration. It will give you a bit of insight as to what I added to both styles of Picture This cards, as well as the two different card layouts that I chose. Also, if you’re local to me (Durham Region or East GTA), why not complete the online survey about a possible Live In Person Stamping Event this fall. That’s right, an In Person event!!! We cancelled two in 2020, so we’re most excited about being able to get together for some creative time. In the meantime, please email me if you have questions or need help with something and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Until tomorrow, Happy Stamping!
