Happy Friday! Today’s project is the Butterfly Brilliance Embossed card that I shared last night on Facebook. It’s easier to create than you may think, and oh, does it have some great shine to it. Let’s have a closer look.
First off, the card base is Basic Black cardstock, with a piece of Basic White inside for a personal message. The piece on top is from a sheet of Rainbow Glimmer Paper. It’s quite smooth for paper this glittery, because it’s a very fine glitter that appears to be baked into the paper. There are six colours are on each sheet – Bermuda Bay, Blackberry Bliss, Granny Apple Green, Mango Melody and Magenta Madness. When you cut the piece in half, Blackberry Bliss is the colour that appears on both pieces.
This piece has the Blackberry bliss, Bermuda Bay & Granny Apple Green colours. I do have another card to share at some point soon that has the other colour combination.
The Butterfly Brilliance embossed look is great stamp for a card like this one. It adds a fun image, while leaving enough of the glimmer paper exposed that you seen a wicked sheen on it. I’m not going into any great detail about the construction of this card, as it is laid out in last night’s Facebook Live video. I have loaded it to YouTube (please follow & share!) for those of you that aren’t on Facebook.
Details are included in the video for colouring the ribbon and the embellishments. We have some lovely white ribbon in the catalogue that lends itself well to colouring, and it’s well worth a watch.
