Box of Lilies Hostess Gift

Good morning stampers! Today I’m posting a Box of Lilies project that would be perfect as a hostess gift. It uses very little in the way of supplies, and is relatively easy to make. Order the needed supplies online, and if the order is over $120, choose the Lasting Lily stamp set for free! Scroll down for a couple of tips.

When creating this project, I began with the cards themselves. There are four inside of the box, with the card front added to the top of the pizza box itself. Four of the 3’x3 envelopes, stamped with the same lily image, are also in the box. You could add a couple of additional cards, but you don’t want to overstuff the box.

Each card base is 6″x3″, scored and folded in half. It’s not necessary to add a piece of Whisper White to the inside but I find that sometimes it’s difficult to see ink on Old Olive cardstock, so I added a piece. I adore the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper. It is so fresh, and lovely to use on bright projects.

Stamping the Lasting Lily flowers may require a bit of trial and error. It is a DistINKtive stamp, which allows you to create a deeper image without stamping multiple times. There are a few tricks though to help you with this.

*Tip* To achieve a good image, you’ll need either a relatively dry inkpad, a brayer, or sponge daubers. If you find your inkpad is too “juicy”, stamp off some of the ink or scrap a bit off. You can also use a brayer to roll the ink onto the stamp, or use a sponge dauber and sponge it on. If you’re not happy with using an inkpad, try one of the other methods.

The pizza box itself was coloured using a sponge brayer. I simply rolled the brayer through my inkpad and over the box until I was happy with the colour.

*Tip* Don’t drop your brayer directly onto the box because you’ll end up with lines of ink. Start off of one edge, and then across the box. You can roll it back and forth at this point to spread colour.
