Butterfly Botanical Card

Hello again! Time for our second post of the day, and it’s directly related to the first. It features the Butterfly Botanical Designer Series Paper from the Sale-a-Bration catalogue and the Butterfly Duet Punch from the Occasions catalogue. It’s also Flamingo Friday, and I’m posting an adorable video to Facebook and Instagram!

Wendy's Little Inklings: Botanical Butterfly & Butterfly Duet Punch Card

Today’s card was CASEd from one created by Margriet Tournier. It’s striking because it’s black and white. No colour at all!

The Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper (FREE with a $60 Sale-a-Bration order) is the star of the show. It’s fantastic paper because one side of each sheet is in colour, and one side is black and white. Check it out.

There are two pieces of DSP on this card. The first one is obviously the strip of paper. Can you spot the second? It’s the butterfly! For this card, I punched it with the Butterfly Duet punch, which is only available until 2pm EST, and then it goes into the vault until the next shipment arrives (date TBD).

So, what do you do if you don’t have the punch? Fussy cut! It looks like Margriet fussy cut hers because the antennae is attached to the butterfly in the photo. Mine is missing the antennae because they are not part of the punch. Here’s a close-up of the butterfly layer on the card, with the Stitched circle and Metallic Thread behind the image.

*Tip* The Butterfly Duet punch can punch 2 butterflies at the same time. Cut the butterflies from the paper before punching to maximize the number of butterflies that you can punch.

Why am I posting this card when the punch isn’t available? Simple. You can place an order for different products in the Occasions catalogue, and choose the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper as your free Level 1 Sale-a-Bration reward. When the punch becomes available again, you already have the paper and don’t have to worry about it possibly selling out.

The sentiment on this card comes from the new Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set. You’ll see more stamps from this set appear on my cards in the coming weeks, because of the size of the stamps. They fit well in many of the Big Shot dies that we have, and are perfect for cards.

You can order Itty Bitty Birthdays and the cardstock for this card through my Online Store. Shop 24/7, and don’t forget to add the January Host Code (N2UNSWS2) to receive a Project Helper Tutorial at the end of the month as part of my Online Rewards Program. If your order is over $200, choose the Stampin’ Rewards instead, and I’ll still send the Tutorial!

Thanks for stopping by today! It’s almost time to get ready for my icy trek to the bookstore, so there won’t be any stamping for me today. I hope you’re able to create something today, and happy stamping!
