Good morning stampers! I have a couple of blue Winter Woods cards to share with you this morning. This stamp set and coordinating dies were made available in last year’s Holiday Catalogue, and I was pleased when they were carried over. Let’s have a look at both projects.
The first card is another Merry & Bright card. Stampers were able to create two of these at our October stamping event. The gorgeous tree image was heat embossed with white embossing powder, resulting in a strong effect on the cardstock.
Seaside Spray is my favourite of the 2019-2021 In Colors, and I adore this ribbon. It is currently available (or it was of Tuesday morning!), but hasn’t been for much of the past two months because of its popularity.
Today’s second card was created by Jennifer Bawden. The colour combination is simple and classic: Whisper White and Night of Navy. The three images on the card can all be found in the Winter Woods set.
There are two techniques on the card that I want to point out. First, Jennifer masked part of the cardstock with a circle, allowing her to sponge around it, creating a moon. The easiest way to do this is to punch a circle from a sticky note, placing it onto the cardstock. Using a sticky note ensures that it’s going to move when you’re sponging the ink overtop.
You can also see glitter on the large tree image. You can add Dazzling Diamonds to a project using Shimmery Crystal Effects (Holiday Catalogue), Fine-Tip Glue Pen, or Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Just lay down the glue, spoon the glitter overtop, shake off, and let dry.
