Bird Ballad Sticky Note Teacher Gift

Hi stampers! Today’s project is a super easy Bird Ballad Sticky Note Teacher Gift. School starts in a week and a half (!), and this would be wonderful to give to your child’s teacher on the first day of school.

A demonstrator in my downline, Colleen Weddell, created these really quickly using cardstock, Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper, and brads. And a pack of Post-It sticky notes.

Bird Ballad Sticky Note Instructions:

You’ll need a piece of 8-1/2″ x 3″ cardstock, scored at 3″ to start. Determine the second score line after you measure the height of your sticky note pad. The second line will then be 3″ + the height of the pad. The project used 3M Post-It notes that are 3/8″ thick. The score lines for this size of Post-It note pad are as follows:

  • 3″
  • 3-3/8″
  • 6-3/8″
  • 6-3/4″

The toughest part of these is punching the enclosure. Colleen used the Scallop Tag Topper Punch. The punch has channels for 2″, 1-1/2″ and 1″ paper, but you’re not restricted to these sizes. You *can* slide larger paper into the punch. For this project, slide the paper into the punch, and punch it out. Trim the sides if needed so that it looks like the photo above.

Once you have completed that step, cut the Designer Series Paper to attach to the cardstock. In the project above, the square is 2-3/4″ on each edge, while the rectangle is 2-3/4″ x 1/2″.

Fold and score the cardstock on your score lines, and glue in your Post-It/Sticky notes. You can then see exactly where your brad should be placed to hold the holder closed. Once it’s in place, you’re done!!! So quick and easy, you can whip off a bunch of these in a very short period of time.
