Happy Thursday! Today’s project is a Beauty of the Earth Trifold Card, that I originally posted on Facebook back in May. It was one of our Thursday Facebook Live projects, and I did create a tutorial at the time with the measurements. I’m posting it today as the last of this week’s ‘Pinterest experiments’. There are many photos in today’s project, so let’s have a look, beginning with a photo the closed card.
A few things to point out about this trifold card. First, it’s taller than your average size card. The height at the top right corner is 6-1/4″, but the card is 3-1/2″ wide when closed, so it will fit inside a business envelope. There are beautiful envelopes on the market for this size of card, and it’s worth investing in a small number of them if you enjoy making larger cards.
Second, you can make 2 of these from one sheet of cardstock as the sheet is cut on the diagonal. Instructions for this are in the downloadable tutorial below. When flat, the card looks like this:
Individual panel photos are below. Yes, I didn’t need to include them, but I’m a super-visual learner, and I’d rather have too many to scroll through rather than not enough. The large panel to the right has one die cut phrase, with a bit of the Misty Moonlight twine from the Flowers for All Seasons ribbon pack. I have used all of the ribbon from this pack on my projects. The three rolls give you a variety of options, in different colours. Definitely worth the price.
The second panel is simply the ‘dot’ stamp from the set, stamped repeatedly in the upper left corner. I did double-stamp the dots, so that you have light and dark images. Because you’re stamping off of the edge, make sure that your second stamp is further off the edge. If you move it closer to the centre, you’ll have a weird line on your card. You do NOT want that!
Finally, the small panel has a bunch of Misty Moonlight elements to it. I love this colour, and haven’t used much of it since I finished this card. It goes so well with Evening Evergreen, that I’ll try it on some holiday cards.
Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper features prominently on this card (on sale at 15% off!). I pulled the colour scheme directly from the paper, and have included the Colour Chip below. Remember that you can find all Colour Chips in my Stampin’ Resources.
One last photo for today… the finished card on display. As ridiculous as it sounds, I’m quite pleased that I have a Misty Moonlight coloured pot for one of my succulents.
To see how this card goes together, watch the Facebook Video. I have not loaded this video to YouTube, so this is the only way at this point to see a video of the card construction. Download the tutorial below for measurements and specific instructions.

The July-December Mini Catalogue AND summer Sale-a-bration will begin on August 3rd! I took some time before placing my pre-order because I want to make sure that I can show you the best of the catalogues. When everything arrives early next week, I’ll unbox them live on Facebook. The books themselves are also in the box for those that didn’t receive them by mail. If you would like them, please send me a quick email.
Select Designer Series Paper is 15% off between July 1st – August 2nd. Choose from 9 different paper packs to add some interest to your projects. It’s a great time to stock up and save! See all of the DSP included in this sale here.
Thanks for stopping by today! Today’s Beauty of the Earth Trifold card is more difficult to make than most of the cards that I showcase, but it’s definitely worth it. Make two while you’re at it, to take advantage of the angle cut of the cardstock. Don’t forget that we’re going live on Facebook tonight at 7:30pm. Hopefully we’ll see you then. In the meantime, please email me if you have questions or need help with something and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Until tomorrow, Happy Stamping!
