Happy Tuesday! Today’s project is a lovely Stampin’ Up! Words of Cheer card, that does have some colouring on it, but it’s not complicated to create. It looks and feels like November today, and I’m happy that I can spend most of my day working on some projects for my upcoming November 8th Holiday Class. Before I head to my stamp room, let’s have a look at our project…
Words of Cheer was one of the stamp sets that I immediately gravitated to when I first saw the July-December Mini Catalogue, because of the sentiments that are part of the set. There is one main image, with phrases that can be combined to create the exact one needed for your card.
This stamp set does have a coordinating set of dies (Christmas Cheer Dies), however I didn’t use them on this card. You’ll see them shortly though, because I’m staring at another card on my table that has a die cut poinsettia image.
The Colour Chip for this card is below. Working with this colour combination is easy, because the colours flow together nicely. Don’t forget that you can always check my Colour Chip Resource Page for any Chip that has been used on a project, as well as a link to that project for an example.
Colouring the large Words of Cheer image requires four sets of Stampin’ Blends, but you can easily get away with only three colours – Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow and Daffodil Delight. The fourth colour is Old Olive, which I used for the small leaves. If you decide to use Mossy Meadow for these, colour them with the light Blend, and don’t add any of the dark colour. Below are a couple of close-up photos of the card.
I’ve been trying to use my embossing folders (and Designer Series Paper) more often on my projects. It’s easy to forget about them when you’re focusing on die cuts and stamps, but they are easy to use, and add great visual impact to a card. The new Timber 3D Embossing Folder is more subdued than some of the others that Stampin’ Up! has, and works very well on this card.

Make a $60 + purchase in October, and enjoy an EXCLUSIVE Online Holiday Crafting Class on November 8th at 7:30pm. AND… if you add the October Host Code (QVPMYNTM), your monthly bonus will have a $15 value (normally $10) in November. Full details can be found here, and I want to see you on November 8th!
Thanks for stopping by today. The Stampin’ Up! Words of Cheer stamp set is lovely, and surprisingly easy to colour. I made a bunch of different cards earlier in the fall with the stamp set, and continue to pull it out just for the sentiments. I’ll be back tomorrow with another Halloween project that is super easy to make. Perfect when you only have 5 days left to get all of your treats ready. I’m working ALL weekend, so it will be nice to take in some goodies for my coworkers. If you have questions, please add a comment or drop me a quick e-mail and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Happy Stamping!
