Whimsical Trees Give It a Whirl

Happy Tuesday! Today’s project is a Whimsical Trees Give It a Whirl Card. It’s been a little since I last played with the dies, but I’m so glad I pulled them from the shelf. I enjoy making cards with them, and this whirly card is so much fun. One note before we look at the card… blog posts for the next few weeks will be a bit erratic, because we’re now in prime Christmas shopping season, and my hours are all over the place.

As the Whimsy and Wonder Designer Series Paper has a very non-traditional feel to it, I decided to use that same colour scheme on this card, with Polished Pink as the main colour. Three of the images from the stamp set fit nicely into the circle on the card. All are shown on the post to give you an idea of placement and colours.

To make this card, stamp each image onto the circle with Black Memento ink, and colour with Stampin’ Blends. You can use whatever colours you’d like. My card has Mint Macaron, Misty Moonlight, Polished Pink & Mossy Meadow. Stamp the holly image in a repeating all over the front panel.

A bit of Polished Pink and White Glittered Organdy ribbon was added under the phrase, and Opal Rounds give it another bit of sparkle.

One more quick close-up… These Give it a Whirl dies are so much fun, and far easier to use than you might think. Many of the Christmas images are too big for the opening, but these Whimsical Trees stamps are perfect. I have my templates for the different styles of openings to help plan your stamping. They work really well, and I would encourage you to create your own.
