It may seem odd to post this card today, because it’s steamy outside today, but sharing coffee with friends is never a bad thing. I’m hiding in my house today, painting my office (humidex=34C=ugh). It’s too hot to be outside gardening, so this seems like a good time. Tonight, I’m going to hide in the basement and stamp! Before I do that, I want to share today’s card with you. It was CASE’d from a card originally created by Jo Anne Hewins, but updated to make it my own. Come and warm up with Coffee Café and a friend.
I love that there isn’t a sentiment on the front of the card, because it allows you to keep it in your box until you want/need a card for a friend that isn’t focused on a distinct occasion. I added the stamp to the inside, along with some coffee beans, because I do intend to give this to a coffee loving friend. This stamp is fabulous because it fits inside of the larger coffee cup image in the stamp set.
One more quick note about the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper. I used a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece on the front of the card, so that the coffee rings were behind the main cup image. I had an epiphany one night before I created this, because it occurred to me that the rings in the Timeless Textures stamp set could easily work as coffee rings. When I started searching cards on Pinterest, I discovered that I wasn’t the first to have this epiphany – in fact the original card used the stamps for the background. So, if you have the Timeless Textures set, why not use it?
