Good morning stampers! Today I have a wonderful Verdant Garden Wedding card for you. This was one of the first stamp sets that I fell in love with. It’s perfect for weddings and anniversaries, but you can use the images on many different projects.
Sometimes when I’m creating cards, I work on individual elements, not knowing how they’re going to be used on a project. With today’s card, I started with two colours to create the piece at the bottom. More on the actual stamping in a moment. Let’s look at the colour combination first.
This wasn’t the first project that I made with these stamps. I made an important discovery during the first round of stamping. You can use your Stamparatus to create a repeat pattern, moving the plates down a notch between stamping. However… the sizing is off by about an 1/8″. It doesn’t sound like much, but it is enough to throw off your pattern.
*Tip* Stamp a repeating pattern on a piece of grid paper before stamping directly onto your project. You can make adjustments to paper placement (you may need to move it slightly) between each round of stamping without wrecking paper.
After stamping and cutting the bottom piece to size, I wrapped a piece of the Petal Pink 5/8″ Organdy Striped Ribbon around the card, securing it where I knew the sentiment would be placed. Each of the flowers and the vines were stamped, coloured with Stampin’ Blends and fussy cut. It’s possible to cut the leaves, but be careful! It would be easy to accidentally cut one off.
The sentiment was stamped onto Petal Pink cardstock, and punched with the new Timeless Label punch, which clearly isn’t long enough to punch this out. I cut the cardstock to be slightly narrower than the width of the punch, and then pushed the cardstock through from the top so that I only punched one side of the sentiment. I then repeated the process on the other side. Stop by Facebook later today, and I’ll show you how it’s done.
The full supply list can be found below. Order any stamping supplies that you need for this project by clicking on the links, or going directly to my Online Store. If you order is over $25, add the June Host Code (KAACQXQF) to receive a free Tutorial Bundle at the end of the month. I will be updating my Online Class Calendar next week. Stampin’ Up! is changing our personalized pages later this week, and any class information listed before the change will disappear! I might as well wait to post the classes.
Thanks for stopping by today. This Verdant Garden Wedding Card has a very soft feel to it, and would be wonderful to give on a special day. If you have stamping or cardmaking questions, e-mail me! On that note, it’s beautiful outside, and I need to get the dog out. I also need to get a bit of gardening done before it rains tomorrow… and Friday… and Saturday… You get the idea. It’s been such a wet spring.
