This Little Piggy likes to Watercolour

Now that the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue has been released, I will start posting photos of all of the card samples that I had on display for yesterday’s Open Houses, starting with today’s This Little Piggy card.  It will take awhile though, so if you want to see many more in a short period of time, follow my Facebook page because I’ll be posting them all weekend long as part of my Online Open House event on Facebook.

Today’s card features another cute pig from the This Little Piggy stamp set.  Many demonstrators were able to bring this set home with them from our demonstrator-only event, OnStage, held in early April, so there are lots of pigs to be found online.  My stampers created this card at one of my May classes, and they loved him because he’s SO cute, and this card is SO easy to create.

I am truly loving the look of the watercolour base behind images, and this one is no exception.  I laid down the colour first, waited for the paper to dry, and then stamped the pig.  Shading was added by using a watercolour pencil, which was smoothed out with a Wink of Stella pen. You can’t see it, but the entire pig is shimmery because I covered him all with Wink of Stella.  Ooooooo… shimmery pig.

You may remember that I cut the sentiment away from the image on the “This Little Piggy” image, but I really like the placement of the sentiment on this image because it’s perfectly aligned, so I left it on.
