Good morning stampers! Just a quick post today because I need to get into my stamp room and film a video. That’s right, I said film a video! One of the embossing techniques that we did in this week’s class was pretty unique. Adding a video to the website (and YouTube!) will help everyone remember all of the steps in the embossing process. I’m going to hold off posting the card until the video is done, so today’s card is a Thank you card stamped with the Stitched All Around Bundle.
This is another card that has been hanging out in the basket for a little while, but I like its simplicity, and it’s easy to recreate. You may notice that the colour scheme is different from a card posted last week. Completely accidental on my part – I was adding the photo to the post, and saw the photo for last week’s card in the files. The layout is somewhat different, but I guess I really like these colours!
Two things about this card… the stamping on the left side was done with the cross stitch stamp in the Stitched All Around stamp set and the Stamparatus. The stamp is an inch long on the long side, so you stamp it repeatedly, moving the plate down one notch each time. The stamp is perfectly lined up, and you don’t have to worry about matching the x’s.
I have used the thank you sentiment from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set, and it fits perfectly into the punched circle.
As you may remember, I’m a cross-stitcher as well as a stamper, which is part of the appeal of the Stitched Labels Framelits. To make the stitching stand out on the circle under the sentiment, I added a circle of Basic Black underneath. It gives it punch without being overpowering.
