The Swirly Bird stamp set and matching Swirly Scribbles Thinlets are proving to be extremely popular with stampers everywhere. When they were first released to demonstrators, a lot of cards were created using the swirls as flowers. Since then, many examples have popped up of different ways to use the elements. I really like the design of this card (one I pulled from Pinterest) because it uses the wave element in a completely different way.
There is a ‘vein’ in this stamp set that can be used on stamped/die cut leaves, but also forms the stem for these flowers, which is fantastic because one stamp can be used for more than one thing. The same holds true for others in the set, which I’ll showcase as time goes on. I’m eagerly awaiting more new stamps to enter my house, so you won’t be bored of Swirly Bird and flamingos.
As an aside, I really haven’t showcased the stamp set Tin of Cards at all. I used it a fair bit in the winter when making dividers for card boxes, but the larger sentiments are wonderful because they are a good size to work with, in an easy to read font.
One quick note about the wave element, as well as the big swirls that are in the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits. They can be challenging to glue on a card. The Fine-Tip Glue Pen (138309 – $9.00) is terrific at helping you glue these to paper. Just be sure not to squeeze too hard on the bottle!
