Stylized Birthday on a Bokeh Background

*originally posted on 10/18/16*

This month’s stamp class focused on current techniques, something that has been missing of late.  For the past number of month’s I’ve been concentrating on bringing new stamps and paper to my stampers, and creating cards that they can recreate easily and quickly.  It was fun trying something completely new.

The Bokeh technique is another one of those ‘that looks too hard’ techniques that people run from.  It’s actually pretty easy to do, it just requires a bit of patience and drying time.  We used three colours on this card (Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry & Island Indigo), along with some Whisper White craft ink to create the bubble effect.  After drying the background with the heat tool, the Stylized Birthday stamp was stamped on the paper, with rhinestones added for embellishment.  Everyone left with ink on their fingers!
Have you signed up for one of my October Christmas classes?  Space is limited, and they are filling up.  Be sure to email or message me to add your name to one of the open sessions.  Sessions are 10am and 7pm on Tuesday, October 25, and 7pm on Thursday, October 27th.
Happy Stamping!
