Happy Monday! We’re one day from the start of a brand new Catalogue season. This week’s CASE the Catalogue card uses the new Quiet Meadow Bundle from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue. It’s a very pretty set of stamps and dies that you can use to create gorgeous projects.
This is a pretty new bundle, and the card itself can be found near the top of page 110 of the new book. I’m not generally a flower person, but I am pleased that I bought the Quiet Meadow stamp set. I lost about a week’s worth of stamping time because of family/vaccination troubles, so I spent yesterday creating this week’s projects. It’s a quietly soothing set that lends itself to sympathy, friendship, and thank you cards.
The stamp set has a splotchy dot pattern that I will use repeatedly on all types of projects. These are some of the most versatile stamps, and something that I look for when ordering new products. I also look for coordinating sentiments in a stamp set, because it’s easy to create when you’re pulling just one set from the shelf. This one was stamped, and the banner at the bottom was fussy cut. (I’m going to miss the Triple Banner Punch!!)
You’ll find a number of larger dies in the Meadow Dies set that coordinate with the stamp set, but don’t cut out any of the images. On this card, two floral die cuts were cut from Shimmery White cardstock, and coloured using Watercolour Pencils. The photo really highlights the shimmery paper and colouring – even more so than when you look at the physical card. This is an easy way to add colour to your project.
*Tip* If you’re not crazy about the ‘colouring lines’, take a Water Painter with a moistened tip (not too much water!), and carefully colour the die cut. You can do this easily with the Shimmery White cardstock as it stands up better to the moisture than Basic White.
Today was supposed to be the day that we hosted the first of our Quiet Meadow online Facebook classes. We have pushed that to Monday, June 7th because of the issues that both of us were facing over the past week. Life is amazing in that you think you have it all under control, until you don’t. The updated class will be free to anyone that purchases the Quiet Meadow before June 7th, and it will be a single class next month. Additional details will be posted shortly.
