Hello stampers! Today’s post is a quick one, but I wanted to show you the Stamp Cleaning Pad. It’s new to this year’s Annual Catalogue, and is something that stampers have wanted for some time.
The actual pad is about the same size as the Memento Ink Pad, but it’s significantly taller. Inside is a foam pad (see below) with a special type of ink remover. I love the warning on it – avoid contact with mouth. I’m guessing that there is a reason for this 🙂
There must be something special in the remover, because it does an excellent job of removing the red staining on your photopolymer stamps. Here’s a before photo of one of my stamps:
Here’s an after photo:
As you can see, quite a bit of the ink has been removed from the stamp. Because this was the first stamp that I used with the pad, and I tried it in a class, I continued to work with this one after the photo had been taken, to remove even more ink. I have seen photos where the staining had been almost completely stripped from the stamp. Amazing!
The written instructions that accompany the Stamp Cleaning Pad do state that you need to rinse the stamp with water after cleaning. This is why you can see water droplets on the photo above. Here’s a look at the pad itself after I’ve cleaned a couple of stamps:
It really captured the ink, and these were clean stamps before I ever started! You can purchase a refill for this, so you don’t need to worry about the pad drying out.

I still have a few openings for Monday’s Fun Folds Card Class. Send me a quick email to register for the class. It should be a good one!
It’s humid in the house, because our A/C isn’t working properly. I’m heading to the stamp room to work on the fun fold designs for next week’s class. I’ll end up cleaning a few stamps along the way with my Stamp Cleaning Pad. Just wait until you try it! Happy stamping!
