Have you seen that Amazon Alexa commercial where the lady raises the temperature in her house and adds some summer tunes, and invites a friend over to celebrate summer? Well, it’s a lovely day in Southern Ontario (not!), so I’m posting a swap card today that reminds me of the beach and warmer weather. I won’t go so far as to invite summer into my house, but one can dream. Instead, I’m looking at the So Many Shells stamp set. It has some great images that evoke memories of hunting for shells in the sand. It’s rare to find one in pristine condition, but the hunt is half the fun.
It is warm outside, and the snow is melting, but it’s very grey out there. Even for February, it’s rather blah. At least the month is half over! With the warm temps and longer days it’s beginning to feel more like spring. Yippee! I need to crack open my seed catalogue and decide what to start planting in my greenhouse (aka my living room). But… let’s get back to today’s So Many Shells card.
Laurie Alexander created this pretty card, using a colour combination that is very soothing. Before stamping the shells, Laurie sponged a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock with Marina Mist ink. The Crumb Cake shells were stamped over top, and the white shells were embossed and heat set. I love how she used the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits to add waves to the card. Very pretty!
The sentiment comes from the Butterfly Basics stamp set, which is full of must have images for card making. It is SO versatile! The fonts are fabulous and current, and you can layer the images for a wonderful effect.
