Today’s project is a lovely Simply Succulents card, with colouring using our Stampin’ Blends. This week is Simply Succulents week, and I have a few different projects ready to post. Let’s have a look at today’s card.
At first glance, it seems a bit terrifying to colour succulents, because there is a lot of variation in their colours. However, I went to the internet, and looked at photos of these types of plants. Stampin Blend colours were chosen to colour the images in the Simply Succulent set based on what I saw. The best part is there are so many different types of succulents, that there are no rules for this. Colour them how you wish!
I have listed all of the colours for this card in the product list at the end of the post. Don’t feel restricted to these colours though – use what you have! One note though… the upper right plant was coloured with Seaside Spray Stampin’ Blends, which will appear on the retiring list on Wednesday. They are also the centre colour of the light green plant on the left side.
Once the plants and pot were coloured, they were die cut with the coordinating Potted Succulents dies. There are 13 in the set, and four are geared towards the phrases included in the stamp set. It’s easy to create a card when everything you need is in the stamps and dies. Don’t forget that you save 10% when you purchase them together in the Simply Succulent Bundle..
The Seaside Spray cardstock was embossed with the Old World Paper 3D Folder, and the cute stitched rectangle is in the Stitched So Sweetly die set. The stitching coordinates so well with the stitched edge on the sentiment.
