Good morning stampers! One of the more popular items in this year’s Annual Catalogue is the Rooted in Nature Bundle. Featuring 16 stamps in the Rooted in Nature stamp set, and 12 dies in the Nature’s Roots Framelits, it has everything you need to make a nature inspired card. Today’s example uses two of the stamps in the set, as well as two of the dies that both emboss AND cut.
There are three leaf dies that cut and emboss at the same time as well as the outline dies to cut stamped leaves. All work well as accents on your cards. Two of the above leaves were cut with cardstock, while I added a third that was cut from vellum. I opted not to die cut the tree, but after cutting around the edges of trees for all these years, I’m excited that I can die cut them in a flash.
The stamp set itself has some fantastic stamps for both backgrounds and focal points, and acts as a companion set to Lovely as a Tree. That tree ring works with everything!
I love using Baker’s Twine on cards, because it’s easy to work with. You an wrap it around cards, tie it into bows, or knot it to create a different look. The Grapefruit Grove twine on this card was cut into two pieces, and then slip-knotted together. I’ll admit that it was a *bit* of a pain attaching it to the back of the Designer Series Paper, but I’m happy with the look of it on the card. It comes in a package with 3 other colours, all of which pair well with the Rooted in Nature Bundle and the coordinating Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper.
