I’m back this afternoon with a Quick and Easy Beautiful Blizzard Card. I was going to post a Cambridge Carols card, but ice pellets started falling from the sky this afternoon. A snowflake card seemed appropriate. (That and apparently I haven’t photographed the Cambridge Carols card yet!)
The design was CASEd from a card created by Krista Driessen. The difference between our cards lies in the colour combination. I opted to use “traditional” winter colours, with Whisper White, Blueberry Bushel, and Balmy Blue forming the main colour combo. Embossing, Silver Metallic Thread and Rhinestones are the embellishments that set this card apart. The Balmy Blue and Blueberry Bushel work extremely well together, and the contrast between the two colours helps to soften the card.
Heat embossing with white embossing powder allows you to add your sentiment to a piece of Blueberry Bushel cardstock. It gives you a really strong focal point on the front of the card, but your eyes are still drawn to the snowflakes themselves.
