Flamingo Friday: A Pop of Paradise Spritzed Flamingo

Welcome back to Flamingo Friday, with a Pop of Paradise Spritzed Flamingo!  Every week I try and celebrate my favourite birds on their favourite day, and today is no exception.  I actually created this card awhile back, which is why there is retired Designer Series Paper on the envelope, but I’ve been busy this week painting trim in the house, and preparing for our vacation, and didn’t get around to creating a new one for today.

Wendy's Little Inklings: Pop of Paradise

Since everyone seems to be watercolouring these days with their watercolour pencils, some of our other watercolour-style techniques have been put on the back burner for a bit.  I really like the spritzing technique because it’s incredibly easy to do, and gives you a splash of watercoloring without almost any effort.  Fast cards are good cards.

To get the look, simply ink up your solid flamingo stamp from the Pop of Paradise stamp set, spritz it with water, and then stamp it onto your watercolour paper.  I hold the spritzer about 6-8″ away from the stamp, and spritz it until it’s wet but the water isn’t running off of the stamp, making a mess on my desk.

*Tip* To get the splatter on the card,  take a wet Aqua Painter, pick up some ink from the lid of the ink pad, and flick it onto the paper.  Make sure you have your workspace covered, and that there isn’t anything around that could be damaged by the splatter (i.e. other cards!)

It occurred to me that I never talk about how amazing our envelopes are.  Very smooth, with a great weight to them, they make you want to open the envelope to see how good the card is inside.
