It’s time to celebrate the flamingo again! One of these days I might change it to Chicken Fridays, or perhaps Pig Fridays, but they just don’t have the same ring to them. So, today we’re stuck with 4 Pop of Paradise bookmarks.
Now, it’s pretty obvious that each of these is a little bit different. Okay, one is a lot different but I’ll get to that. None of these started out as bookmarks, but rather as ink & water “experiments”. I just decided to turn them into bookmarks because I knew that I would use them.
The one on the left was inked and stamped, and then I went back over it with an Aqua Painter to blur the image. He still has crisp edges, but he’s just not as sharp.
Second from the left is the “one of these things is not like the other” bookmark. The bird was embossed with clear embossing powder, and a watercolour wash added. I finished him off with some of our Pick a Pattern Washi tape, and some of the gorgeous new Vintage Crochet trim from our Holiday catalogue that will be available on September 1st.
The third bird was inked, spritzed and then stamped, while the last was inked and stamped on watercolour paper that had been spritzed with water.
Water and greenery was added after the fact with stamps from the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set.
