Paper Pumpkin Alternate Project for December 2017: Shaker Card

Happy Monday!  I’m at the arena, trying to get some work done that does NOT involve skating.  As many of you know, my Stampin’ Up! income goes towards paying for figure skating lessons for two of my kids.  This month the club is hosting a rather large competition, and there’s a lot of work to be done.

Unfortunately, stamping has taken a bit of a back seat.  My January newsletter isn’t finished, and my class schedule hasn’t made it online yet.  With any luck, both will be done by Wednesday.  In the meantime, I have a quick Paper Pumpkin alternate project to show you.

When we opened our December Paper Pumpkin kits, there was a bit of a surprise waiting for us.  One of the elements of the kit (the green leaves) had been diecut in reverse, so Stampin’ Up! gave us the re-cut leaves, along with the ones that had been cut in error.

Rather than tossing them out, I used one of the pieces to create a Happy Birthday shaker card.  I just added a piece of a Window Sheet behind the diecut, added some Foam Adhesive Strips and Iridescent Sequins, and adhered the whole thing to a white card base.

We have had some fabulous Paper Pumpkin kits of late, and many stampers have posted alternate projects that they created from kits that they didn’t like, or just for the fun of it.  Stampin’ Up! loves to see alternate project ideas, and have come up with the Red Box Challenge for January.

Simply put together a WOW project using an unused, past kit—or buy a past kit that you’ve had your eye on. Then share an image of your project on Facebook or Instagram with #redboxchallenge and you will be entered into a random drawing to win a Paper Pumpkin kit.  See all of the Red Box Challenge details HERE.

Sale-a-Bration is THE best time to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin because you can earn free products, as well as save a little bit of $$ on six and twelve month subscriptions.  Click HERE to get the details, and if you subscribe before January 10th (2 days from now!) you’ll get the February kit!

Skating is almost over… until tonight.  Happy stamping, and send me your favourite Paper Pumpkin alternate projects!
