OnStage Bird Ballad Projects – Day 1

Good Morning Stampers! Today I’m going to share three of my OnStage Bird Ballad Projects. These are the ones that I had up on the stage with me, and each reflects a different level of stamping. Let’s have a look.

Wendy's Little Inklings: OnStage Bird Ballad Projects - Day 1

Our first card is the easiest, and fastest to create. The stamps in the Free as a Bird stamp set are all line images, and are lovely to colour. I opted to colour the highlights using Watercolour Pencils as regular pencil crayons. Super simple, and no guesswork required. Because these are stamped onto pre-cut and pre-scored Notecards, all you need is stamps, ink, pencils and pearls. Oh, and a clear block to mount the stamps onto. If you have never stamped before, and would like to give it a try, I highly suggest making this one.

The second card is a step up from the first. I’ve added Designer Series Paper, Linen Thread, and different cardstock. There’s a bit more colouring as well, but still with watercolour pencils acting as regular pencils. It’s a fantastic project if you like a bit of a challenge, but don’t own everything that you need to go bananas when making a card.

I actually made 2 versions of this card, while trying to decide which cardstock to add, and how to colour the birds. Here’s the second one, as well as a side view.

Which one do you like better? They’re the same, yet they’re not. There is more colour added to the second card, but the cardstock behind the sentiment blends in to the Bird Ballad DSP instead of standing out. It’s a good illustration that nothing you add to a project is ever wrong – as long as you’re happy with it.

The final project is definitely for more advanced paper crafters. Why you ask? Well, there is a bit more going on with this project, including 4 items from the Bird Ballad Suite of products. Can you spy them all?

Were you able to pick them all out? You may be able to see what’s different, but can’t name them yet, which is completely fair. You haven’t seen the catalogue yet! Here’s some help:

  • Free as a Bird Stamp Set
  • Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper
  • 3/8″ Scalloped Lace Trim
  • Stitched Nested Labels Dies

None of these will be available until June 4th, but I’ll be sharing Bird Ballad and Free as a Bird projects all week. I’m glad I can finally share them. It was really tough to hide things when people came over!

I can’t add a supply list to this post because most of what you see isn’t available yet. However, you can shop my Online Store for all of your other stamping needs, and don’t forget to add the April Host Code (HJ6UFBPV) to receive a Project Helper Tutorial at the end of the month as part of my Online Rewards Program. If your order is over $200, choose the Stampin’ Rewards instead, and I’ll still send the Tutorial!

Don’t forget:

Week 3 of my Back to Basics Training Course is starting today. We will be reviewing different types of cardstock and paper that you can use in your papercrafting projects. As part of this session, I will be sharing sneak peeks of two different Designer Series Paper packs that will be available in June. Interested? I’ll be on Facebook today at 4pm with a quick Live preview. Additional resources will be posted in the exclusive Back to Basics Facebook Group as the week goes on. If you would like to be included in that group, you will find the group pinned to the top of my Wendy’s Little Inklings Facebook page. Just click to join and I’ll add you in!

Thanks for stopping by to see the first of my OnStage Bird Ballad projects. I’ll be posting more projects as the week goes on, so make sure you check back each day for new ideas and inspiration. Happy Stamping!
