On the Horizon card with New Horizons DSP

Happy Friday! Today’s On the Horizon card is quick to make because it uses one stamp, and a piece of the New Horizons DSP. Let’s have a quick look.

It’s a very clean and simple card. Stamp the sentiment from the On the Horizon stamp set, using Misty Moonlight ink (retiring very soon!) This set is another one of those versatile stamp sets because you have sentiments and images, and it works well with the Oceanfront stamp set.

The wonderful centrepiece of the card is just a piece of the New Horizons 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. It’s 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″, so you can get 4 panels out of a single piece of paper. It’s SO pretty and incredible for landscapes.

The Designer Series Paper was glued to a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock that is only 1/8″ larger on both sides. My preference is smaller borders, so I generally use this size for cutting. I’ll add a cutting template soon, to help you create proper size cuts – the first time.

Before attaching the layer to the card, I wrapped a length of white baker’s twine around twice, tying it in a knot. For this style of image, I think that the knot is less fussy than a bow, and I don’t want to take attention away from the gorgeous paper. Finally, two of the Polished Dots were added.

I have more cards ready to post, and you’ll see them pop up soon. There is a grid of cards on my basement carpet, with dates on them, ready to post. I’ve messed up the schedule though, and need to get back on track!
