Nature’s Harvest Floating Strip Thank You Card

Happy Tuesday! Today’s project is a Nature’s Harvest Floating Strip Card. It combines the bundle with some gorgeous autumn colours for lovely thank you card. Now… I’m posting this several hours later than I had originally intended. It was Thanksgiving yesterday in Canada, and I think that I spent the past 4 days either in car, at work, or with family. I’m beat today, but after being out of the loop for 4+ days, I have a very loooooong to-do list. On that note, let’s knock one thing off of it!

A quick note about the base of this card… it is Basic White, but there is another panel glued directly to it that has been embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D folder.

Like the other Floating Strip cards that I have posted before, this one has strips of cardstock attached to a 3″ x 3″ square of a Window Sheet. I cut Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze & Crushed Curry cardstock into different widths, and used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to attach them to the Window Sheet. Using liquid glue gives you a bit of freedom to move the strips, so that they’re evenly spaced.

You don’t need to worry about lining up the edges of the cardstock with the edges of the Window Sheet, because you can trim them off once you’re happy with the entire panel. Attach the entire layer to the base with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. They’re easy to hide because you can attach them under the strips.

Colouring the flowers is relatively easy. Just take your time, and don’t add too much colour right away. It’s always easy to add colour, but it’s far more difficult to take some off. For these flowers, I coloured all of the petals with Light Daffodil Delight. I did add some Dark Daffodil Delight, but didn’t pull it all of the way down the petals. Light Cajun Craze was added all over the flower’s centre, with a bit of Dark Cajun Craze where it meets the petals.

There is also some Cajun Craze on the petals – just near the top. Looking at the largest flower, it looks (to me) like it has been sectioned into thirds based on the colours. I didn’t plan this, but it’s the rule of threes, on a flower. Once coloured, I die cut the flowers with the coordinating die from the Harvest dies, and glued them flat to the strips.

Finally, I stamped the ‘thank you’ in black Memento ink, and punched the ends with the Banners Pick a Punch (one of my favourites!) This has been popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. When you’re making the card, you can add some type of embellishment to the front. I just chose not to.
