Good morning stampers! Today’s card was inspired by a Lovely as a Tree card found in the 2015-2016 Annual Catalogue. It is the last of the projects from Sunday’s Farewell to Lovely as a Tree class.
I love the diecut on the catalogue card, and decided to update it with a die and sentiment from the new Well Written Framelits bundle. The stamps/dies/bundle can be found in the 2019 Occasions catalogue, and will be continuing into the 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue. However – the bundle pricing (10% discount) will disappear on June 4th. Here’s the original card:
Today’s card is the closest to the original of the three that have been posted this week. The colour scheme on the updated card is the same as the card found in the catalogue.
Colouring the tree with Stampin’ Write Markers, stamping it onto Whisper White cardstock, and then colouring with an almost dry Aqua-Painter gives you a softer look on your project than simply stamping the image. The trick is to make sure that your Aqua-Painter is almost dry. You do not want water pooling on the tree.
The background was done with Pool Party Classic Ink, an Aqua-Painter, and a lot of water. You need to mix the ink with the water, and then very quickly go back and forth over the cardstock – you cannot go back over areas you have already covered, so make sure you have a lot of water and the colour isn’t too dark.
