Love & Support Sympathy Card Idea

Happy Wednesday! Only 6 days left in Sale-a-bration, and today’s project is a Love & Support Sympathy card, made with the Friendly Hello stamp set and our Soft Pastels. I’ll really miss this bundle, because it’s versatile. I’ve made a bunch of different projects with it, and have loved all of them. Let’s have a look at this card.

The technique to create this card is really easy, because all you need is Versamark ink and your Soft Pastels. It’s called Poppin’ Pastels, and has been around for as long as I’ve been with Stampin’ Up! as a Demonstrator. Thinking back, it may be one of the first ‘techniques’ that I every learned.

To make the flowers, ink them with Versamark ink, and stamp them randomly on the Basic White cardstock. Use the paddle end of the Take Your Pick tool, and scrape off some of the Gorgeous Grape pastel onto your silicone mat. Use a Sponge Dauber to pick some up and pounce it onto the cardstock, swirling gently. You’ll see the outlines pop out of the image. It’s pretty cool to watch. I added some Daffodil Delight pastel to the centres of the flowers, which gives it a nice pop of light.

The rest of the card is easy to make because you’re folllowing some pretty basic steps. Emboss the Gorgeous Grape cardstock with the pretty Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder, and glue the white cardstock to the top. Wrap the ribbon around, and glue the entire layer to the card base.

The Love & Support stamp is lovely for a sympathy card. Of course you can use it for a different occasion, but it’s the perfect size for this card. I couldn’t decide which die to use to cut it out, and went to ‘the binder’. Where I found that the Smooth Sailing die set had just the one I was looking for.
