Kite Delight Card – Colouring with Stampin’ Blends

Happy Monday! Today’s project is a Kite Delight card, that I had fun colouring with pretty Stampin’ Blends colours. It’s a gorgeous March day, and I just love making projects with a spring feel to them. This card fits that bill. Let’s have a look!

This is quite an easy card to make, in part because you’re only stamping the kite and the phrase. Both of these are in the Kite Delight stamp set. It’s been awhile since I posted a card that I made with this set. I do have at least two more in my pile of cards to post, so I’m adding the stamp set graphic to remind you of what’s in the set.

You’ll need Memento Black ink for the kite, otherwise your Stampin’ Blends may bleed when you’re colouring. Once you have stamped the kite onto a piece of scrap Basic White cardstock, colour with Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Bermuda Bay blends. Add the dark Bermuda Bay only around the flowers, and don’t worry about blending it into the light colour. If you find that it is too dark, you can use your Colour Lifter to take out some of the colour between the flowers. Cut along the straight lines, and set it aside for a moment.

Three 1-1/4″ x 1-1/4″ squares of Daffodil Delight Designer Series were glued to the front, and the phrase was stamped in Bermuda Bay ink in the fourth. I *did* stamp the phrase after the gluing was finished. It’s a photopolymer stamp set, so I was able to line it up. You may be more comfortable stamping first and gluing second, and this is okay.

We don’t have any Melon Mambo Baker’s Twine right now, so I made my own by running one end of the Dark Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blend down a length of it. Once try, I tied three knots, and attached it to the back of the kite. The kite itself is adhered with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Silver & Clear Epoxy Essentials are often missed in the catalogue, and I’ve added three of the diamond shape to finish it off.

The supply list for today’s project can be found at the bottom of the post. Our On the Horizon Stamp set, and New Horizons Designer Series Paper, is available in the Jan-June Mini Catalogue.
