Good morning stampers. Today’s card is a Happy Tails Sympathy Card that I sent to a friend last week. Her dog passed away a couple of weeks ago after battling an extended illness.
To frame the sentiment and mount it to the centre of a card, chop the cardstock down to 8-1/2″ x 4-1/4″. When folded in half, you will have a square card. Stamp your sentiment onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, and mount underneath a die cut scallop square frame.
It’s easy to cut a frame like this with the Layering Squares and your die cutting machine. You can position them both onto the plate at the same time, but if you are using a magnetic platform, it could be tricky to get them to stay where they are supposed to be.
*Tip* When cutting a frame with layering dies, place both frames onto the cardstock and lightly tape them with Washi tape. Your other option is to cut the centre first, and then cut the outer edge.
Use the Dog Builder punch to add a heart to the card. Add paw prints and an appropriate sentiment to finish it off.
It’s a sad card to make, and a sad card to give. Pets bring so much richness to our lives, and it’s hard when they’re gone. I like the Happy Tails stamp set purely for this type of card. You can use them for cats or dogs. The stamp set and punch are carrying over to the Annual catalogue, but will no longer be available as a bundle. If you want to save 10%, now is the time to purchase the bundle.
The supply list can be found below. You can shop my Online Store for all of your other stamping needs, and don’t forget to add the May Host Code (WMYVAPGB) to receive a Project Helper Tutorial at the end of the month as part of my Online Rewards Program. If your order is over $200, choose the Stampin’ Rewards instead, and I’ll still send the Tutorial.
