Good morning stampers! Today I’m sharing a Happy Tails Doghouse card. It is a simple card to make, but can be used for many different occasions. The sentiment could work for pet sympathy cards, but it can also work for someone who has recently acquired a new pet. Dogs truly are best friends.
To create this card, I stamped the dog house onto a piece of cardstock, punching it out with my 2″ circle punch. The doghouse itself was stamped with 2 stamps and 2 colours of ink. It’s easy to line up the images because it is a photopolymer stamp set.
The sentiment was stamped onto a piece of vellum, heat set with my Heat Tool, and then punched with the same punch. I added a small bit of adhesive to the centre of the vellum to glue it to the doghouse.
*Tip* It’s important to heat set the ink OR set the stamped vellum aside to dry overnight. If you don’t, the ink will smudge and your sentiment will be ruined.
The entire layer was then attached to a Real Red circle that I die cut with my Layered Circles dies. I could have attached it to a 2-1/4″ circle, but I found it to be too big, and heavy on the eye.
The final detail on this card are the pearls. We don’t carry Real Red pearls, but it’s easy to add colour to pearls using your Stampin’ Blends. Add colour to the pearls, and let them dry (super quick process) before you lift them from their backing sheet. Using the Blends with your embellishments means that you can always have something to match your project.
