Good morning stampers! Are you a fan of stitching? I was an avid cross-stitcher before I discovered Stampin’ Up!, and do pick it up every once in awhile. When I saw the strip of paper, I knew that I could add a bit of real hand stitching on the Delightfully Detailed Laser-cut paper and instantly fell in love. The small stitching around each of the die cuts fits both of my crafty loves!
Hand stitching on this card does require a bit of patience, because the paper is quite thin. I used a thick embroidery needle and some of the Night of Navy Baker’s Twine, measuring out a length that was about 3″ longer than the paper. It is secured on the back with Tear and Tape Adhesive, with a piece of Night of Navy cardstock overtop. Trust me – it’s not coming off!
The cardstock behind the Delightfully Detailed strip was added so that you can see the details of the centre motifs. A few rhinestones were added, because every card needs a bit of bling. What I *should* have done (and may still do!) is add a bit of background stamping around the sentiment. I think it looks a bit stark, but at the time I made it, I was focused on making samples for my open house and didn’t think about it. Anyhow, scroll down for the full supply list.
