Good morning stampers! I have two Frosted Foliage cards for you today. Both were CASE’d from page 40 of the catalogue, and both are very pretty in person. Let’s have a look.
My posting schedule for the week (M/W/F) is a bit off. Seeing as how it’s Thursday, I’m adding a couple of cards in today’s post to make up for it. This week has been a tad rough workwise. A bunch of long shifts at the store, combined with long hours and ‘grade 9 take your kid to work day’. mean that I’ve been pretty tired at the end of the day. The other teenager in my house also likes to monopolize the Mac in the evening, so I’m resorting to stamping instead. Anyhoo…
The first card has a base of Highland Heather, with some of the gorgeous Feels Like Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper on top. IMO, this is the prettiest paper in the holiday catalogue this year. I’m not generally a fan of the paper with photographs, but this is really pretty. The reverse side of each sheet is silver/white. You can see a hint of it behind the sentiment on this card.
A quick note about Purple Posy ink…
Speaking of the reverse side of the DSP… the flowers were cut from this paper, and coloured with a Purple Posy Stampin’ Blend. (See photos below). The Blends and Stampin’ Write Markers are now the only way that you can stamp/colour with Purple Posy. Stampin’ Up! has permanently pulled the ink from the market. They have been trying since the spring to release it, but they are having enormous issues with the colour changing once it has been applied to paper and left to set for a few weeks. The decision to discontinue it is unfortunate, but they have been forthcoming with demonstrators about the process, and it’s clear that they have run out of options.
Looking above, the bow was created using the Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon. I cut a length of it, pulled the threads apart, and tied it in a bow. Not the easiest think to do, but it’s possible. You just need of patience. You can also see the lovely shimmer on the ribbon as well as the coloured flowers. Pretty!
The second card is smaller because the base is one of our Note Cards with Feels Like Frost Specialty DSP glued on top. Don’t you love the non-traditional colours? Perfect for someone who loves the holidays but may not celebrate Christmas.
This card is easier to mass produce for the holidays as you only stamp two images, adding a bit of watercolouring on the Shimmery Paper behind the die cuts.
You can see a bit of the silver side of the DSP peeking out behind the sentiment. There are 4 die cuts on the card, however they are fast to cut on your die-cutting machine. Use the Shimmery Crystal Effects to add a bit of gloss to the tops of the flowers. The toughest part of this card is colouring the white baker’s twine with a Purple Posy Blend, and tying it in a bow.

I’m off to the neurologist this afternoon. Cross your fingers for me! I’m really hoping that he will sign the documents allowing the MTO to reinstate my driving privileges. Besides the convenience, it would give me back SO much time in my day. Until tomorrow, when I have more Frosted Foliage cards to share, Happy stamping 🙂
