Today’s card was created by the talented Lisa Hardie. She used the stamps from Incredible Like You to create a pretty floral background on this card.
Almost all of the projects that I have seen used this large flower as a focal point, rather than on the background. Lisa chose to use them to create a unique background, where all of the flowers are stamped in relatively the same direction, instead of all over the cardstock.
The Incredible Like You stamp set is a two step set. What does this mean? There are two co-ordinating stamps for both the flowers and the leaves in this set. You can use the same colour of ink when stamping both images, so you don’t need to hunt for colours that work well together.
With this stamp set, you could stamp both at full strength, resulting in a bold flower. Another option is to ink the full flower at full strength, then stamp off on scrap paper before stamping your cardstock. You can then stamp your details at full strength. It’s worth trying both options on scrap paper and then deciding what you want for your project. Here’s a close-up of the project:
The colour palette on this card is Berry Bliss, Powder Pink and Shaded Spruce. It’s not one that I would have pulled together, but it works extremely well. I like that Lisa was able to stamp the sentiment and then use the Rectangle Stitched Framelits to cut it out.
