I’m back! Life is a series of balances, and my stamping world is not receiving nearly enough attention and love these days. So, I sat down last night with my beloved flamingos, and created a couple of quick cards. Well, they weren’t really quick because I kept messing with them, but at least I have flamingos to share today. Since it’s been awhile, we’re back to Pop of Paradise!
I have always been drawn to cards that have a bit of a black sheep (flamingo?) on them. I didn’t use a Stamp-a-ma-jig on this card, but it was actually pretty easy to line the pretty birds up. I did have a piece of green Painter’s tape covering the bottom of the cardstock, which gave me a visual edge to line up the feet. I’m impressed that I was able to line the others up so well. Call it lucky because I’m sure that I couldn’t do it again if I tried.
There are many pieces of Pick a Pattern Washi Tape stuck to the side of my stamping table, because I couldn’t decide what I wanted on this card. I ended up with a couple of thin strips, and added a piece of Flirty Flamingo Baker’s Twine around them, just for fun. Instead of adding a flamingo to the inside of the card, you can find the same Washi/twine detail.
I perused my stamps while planning the card in my head, and thought that this sentiment from Beautiful You would be perfect. As someone who feels socially awkward a lot of the time, this fits me to a T, and I can think of more than one person to give it to. It’s always nice to get a card in the mail.
I think I need to change out my background, or at least put something behind black cards. Why? Because you can’t actually tell from the first photo that the card base is Basic Black! It’s a bit more obvious in the second, but still difficult to see. Trust me on this one.

Happy Stamping on a day when we have a lovely mixed bag of crap falling from the sky. If it was just snow, it would be fine. But the rain, fog, mist, freezing rain, snow mix… that’s a bit much. It is a good day to hide inside!
