Flamingo Friday: A Pink Studio Bird

Hi Stampers!  I don’t have any new flamingo projects lying around to post, so instead I’m sharing one a Studio Bird with you.  This pink bird hangs out in a corner, and acts as a placeholder for all my Stampin’ Up! lanyards.  (Although, I think I may be missing a few!)  He does have a friend, who sits in the room around the corner below the television.  I’m sure it drives my husband crazy, because the basement is supposed to be his ‘man cave’.  Eh.  It’s my studio, I’ll do what I want with it.  At one point I did think that I should have a flamingo in every room of the house, and while there are few of them around, I’m not that pathetic 🙂

Wendy's Little Inklings: Studio Flamingo

Now, most of you know that the weather this weekend is supposed to be just terrible – especially for April.  The main reason that this post is going up so late in the day is that I have been preparing for the worst, and hoping for the best.  I cleaned the fridge out this morning, because it was gross, and then went out to fill it up again.  The car is gassed up, and I may go out and switch our empty propane tank out for a full one.  Just in case.  Nothing like a good ice storm to freak everyone out!

The other thing that I did was cover up my daffodils.  These clumps face south, so they’re the first neighbourhood flowers to pop out of the ground every spring.  The first photo was taken earlier this week, and they have popped up a bit more. They’re certainly 8-12″ high, and there’s no way that they could withstand a dumping of ice.

This is them now.  They’re as ready for the weather as they’re going to be.

Cross your fingers that they make it through this thing.  I would LOVE it if it just rained.  It’s the ice pellets and freezing rain that is scary.

So, on that note, it’s going to be an AWESOME weekend for stamping!!!  If you need anything, I’ll be hiding in the studio.  Just e-mail, message, or text.  Happy stamping!
