Good morning stampers! The new Delightful Day is a cute stamp set, and this birthday card is easy to make. It’s a splendid stamp set for beginners.
Stampin’ Up! has released the Experience Creativity booklet, which is full of everything that beginners need to start stamping. I am fortunate to own the Delightful Day set. Why? I can share projects and my love of stamping with people that I meet. For this card, let’s start with its structure.
The layout for this card is basic, and you can duplicate it with many different stamps. It’s a card base, with a piece of Designer Series Paper glued on. Add a square element in the upper third, and all you need are some words You can add different things below the stamped square. Often you’ll see a sentiment that has been centred, or stamped just under the right corner of the square. It depends on the size of the sentiment. This card doesn’t need one because the square is the sentiment.
To make this card, you’ll need Whisper White cardstock, the Delightful Day stamp set and Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper. Those are the basic elements.
*Tip* Die cutting the square, rounding the corners, and colouring the confetti help elevate the card to the next level. You can see these on my card, BUT if you’re just starting out, a simple stamped square on top of some DSP will be fine. Here’s a detailed look at the square.
