2018 Colour Revamp – your questions answered!

Wendy's Little Inklings: 2018 Colour Revamp

As you know, Stampin’ Up! is making some changes to our colour offerings.  Today’s post is all about the 2018 Colour Revamp, and should answer any questions that you may have.

What you need to know about the 2018 Colour Revamp:

  • 27 of the existing core colours are staying in our colour collections
  • 13 core colours are disappearing
  • 10 new core colours are being added
  • 6 returning In Colors are being added into the core colour collections
  • 5 new In Colors are being introduced this year

Which colours are disappearing?

Why change the core colours?

  • Stampin’ Up! keeps an eye on colour trends across different markets and industries
  • The company wants to make sure they provide you with the most current and on trend colours
  • These are the first changes made to our Core Colours since 2013 (5 years since last colour refresh)
  • Stampin’ Up!’s plan is to update colours every 3-5 years

Now, many of you may be wondering about the availability of ink, cardstock and embellishments that feature our retiring colours.  Please see the chart below to see how long these will be available.

So, you can see that the ink pads and ink refills are guaranteed to be available through May 7, 2018.  HOWEVER, everything else that features a retiring colour will only be available while supplies last.  It is these items that you need to order sooner rather than later, to ensure that you get the items that you want.

One final note:  Our ink pad cases are being redesigned.  They will still have a foam pad inside, and you can use all of your current Classic Stampin’ Ink Refills.  There is one exception to this, because Basic Gray ink will no longer be Archival ink.  Next year’s Basic Gray ink will be Classic Ink again, so if you have a Basic Gray Archival ink pad, you need to make sure that you have the Archival refill for it because you cannot add Classic ink to an Archival ink pad, or vice versa.

If you would like to see the new ink pads, tune into my Facebook page tonight at 7:30pm.  I will go live with a quick video on the new pads.

If you have additional questions, please post them below, so that everyone can see them.  You can also e-mail them directly to me.
