Good afternoon stamping friends! Sorry for the late post today, but I spent the day with another demonstrator, stamping and gluing swap cards for our upcoming OnStage mini-convention on April 7th. I’m somewhat close to finished, but there are A LOT of tiny dimensional pieces on the cards. It’s going to take some time to finish assembling them. Why so many dimensionals? Well, they’re eclipse cards, modelled after Elizabeth Studer’s card that I found online. They use one of the Celebrate You Thinlits, and my original samples are below.
The colours on the first card were added with watercolour pencils. I wanted to see what it would look like if you added a bit of colour and some water, and the result is a soft pastel look. If I was do make the card again, I would probably add a bit more pencil to the card before painting it out, just to give it a stronger look.
The pencils give the card a softer look, and for those that like pastels, it’s a very pretty card that is easy on the eyes. (Sorry for the yellowing of the white paper on the second card – I zoomed in a bit too close!!)
A much bolder look was obtained when I stamped the swoosh from Sunshine Sayings in various colours across the card. It is visually stunning, and your eye is immediately drawn to it.
Make sure you have some Stampin’ Dimensionals on hand that can be cut into thin pieces. You will need these when you adhere the sentiment to the card. I love the simple eclipse look of this card, with the black cardstock peeking out from behind the raised die cut piece.
My OnStage swap cards are a bit different because I cannot use the Amazing You stamps that are on this card. Sale-a-Bration ends on Saturday (!), and they won’t be available when we demonstrators swap cards. I have substituted stamps from the Sunshine Sayings stamp set to create a birthday card. No photos yet, because they’re still sitting in pieces on my stamp table!
The Celebrate You Thinlits are available for FREE with a $120 order, but only until Saturday. After that they will go into the Stampin’ Up! vault until June 1st, when they will be in the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue. If you want them now though, you NEED to place your order before midnight on Saturday. I wouldn’t wait that long though, because the website will be busy on Saturday night.
Only 6 days left in Sale-a-Bration!
If you need to see all of the Sale-a-Bration offerings, click HERE to go directly to my store. If your order is more than $50, but less than $200, make sure you add the Host Code (RPCNFFHK) to receive access to FREE Project Helper Guides at the end of the month.
