Flamingo Friday: Thanks with a Blended Flamingo

Good morning stampers!  I’ve got a busy day coming up, but it is Flamingo Friday, and I’ve got a lovely Blended Flamingo to share.  If you remember last week’s bird, he was pretty vibrant.  After stamping the outline with Memento Ink, he was coloured with the Calypso Coral Blends.  So bright, so vibrant, and so flamingo.

There are six different species of flamingos, and their colouring isn’t consistent across all of the birds.  So, I decided to take a crack at this guy using my darker Pink Pirouette Blend, and the lighter Calypso Coral Blend for the shaded areas.  The result is a completely different look – the colouring is much more muted, and you can pair the image up with Pink Pirouette paper, something I had not expected when I was colouring the bird.

The height of the stamped flamingo lends itself really well to square cards.  The base of this one is Basic Black (I took the photo before I changed my whole set-up), which sets off the bird so nicely!  Adding a few Subtles enamel dots finishes it off nicely.

The end of Sale-a-Bration is creeping closer.  I will be hosting a ‘Last Kick at the Sale-a-Bration Can’ event on Friday, March 23rd.  Details will be posted next week.  I’m heading to Ottawa today for a skating competition so although I have the date, I have no details!

In the meantime, if you are looking to place an Order Online, remember to add the February Host Code to your $50+ online order, and I’ll send you FREE Project Helper Guides at the end of the month. Don’t forget to mark this down on your Flamingo Rewards sheet too!! Collect 10 Flamingos, and I’ll give you a free stamp set (max value of $36).Wendy's Little Inklings: February Host Code

As always, please call, message, text or e-mail if you have questions or need help with anything.  I would love to feature one of my Flamingo Friday Blended Flamingo birds in a class or workshop.  So much fun!  Happy Stamping!
