The year seems to be flying by at an incredible pace. Hallowe’en is less than a week away, and on November 1st the Christmas commercials will begin to hit the airwaves. I’m glad that my holiday cards are already underway so that they don’t get lost in the shuffle! Candy Cane Season’s lighthearted images are perfect for cards and tags and today’s card is one that can be made in mass quantities using a Stamparatus. It will help line up the inside/outside of the candy cane.
This card was featured in one of my weekly Customer Newsletters, with a full instruction sheet provided – a bonus to my newsletter subscribers. If you would like to receive project ideas on a weekly basis, including 12 Weeks of Christmas projects, be sure to subscribe to my Customer Mailing List.
I have used a different colour combination on this card, choosing to combine Poppy Parade, Shaded Spruce and Gray Granite. Reds and greens are always popular at this time of year, and I’m happy that I have different shades to work with this year. When I first began stamping, we used a ridiculous amount of Old Olive cardstock and ink. While I still like the colour, I don’t pull it out near as often anymore. Here’s a closer look at the card, and the colours themselves.
Candy Cane Season is a photopolymer stamp set. Good to know because the outline of the candy cane and the inside lines are separate stamps, and not always easy to line up. Especially if they are bent slightly when they are attached to the block or Stamparatus plate.
*Tip* Lay your photopolymer stamp on your scrap paper, stamp side down, and then place the block/plate on top to pick it up. This will help prevent “bending” of the stamp, making it easier to line up with its partner.
I love that the artists included a separate sentiment that fits into the outline and the punch (there’s a coordinating punch!). It’s something fun that works really well on a tag. The stamps and punch can be bought separately, or you can get the Candy Cane Season Bundle and save 10%!
