Butterfly Basics: Watercolour Bokeh Technique

*originally published on 3/21/17*

I have previously posted photos of the Hey Chick and Lovely as a Tree technique cards that we are creating in this week’s stamp classes.  Today I am sharing the third card, which features the Butterfly Basics stamp set and the Watercolour Bokeh technique.

We created another card in a class last fall using the Bokeh technique, but we used sponges to add the base colour, instead of Aquapainters & re-inkers.  Although I like that technique, because it is relatively fast, I really like using the re-inkers and water because it is so fun to watch the colours spread across the paper.  It takes longer to dry, but the effect is spectacular.
Credit for this card goes to Lisa Young.  Her original card has slightly different colours, but I have changed it up a bit because two of her colours have retired.  (I have them stashed in a drawer, because I can’t give up, but it makes it hard for others to recreate the card.).
I still have space in my Tuesday and Thursday evening classes.  Just drop me a quick note and you’re in!  Class fee is $20, and you will get inky 🙂
