Butterflies & their Hexagon Hive

*originally posted on 5/25/16*
You don’t generally think of butterflies and honeycomb existing in harmony, but they come together fabulously on this card.  This has been CASE’d from a card that I found on Pinterest (the most evil and fantastic websites all rolled into one), but I’m terrible at pulling the name of the creator from the site.

This card took a bit longer to create than some of the others that I have posted, but only because the honeycomb was sponged onto the card.  I created a mask out of paper using the almost-retired Hexagon Hive Thinlit, and then sponged Daffodil Delight ink through the mask.  As there are solid spaces on the thinlit, I also moved it around and continuing sponging to achieve the look I wanted.
Bitty Butterfly and Elegant Butterfly punches provided quick butterflies for the card, and the stamps are from the Gorgeous Grunge, Lots of Thanks, and Honeycomb Hello stamp sets.  Only one is still current, but thankfully it will remain current next year because I LOVE Gorgeous Grunge!
Thanks for visiting (again!), and I hope to see you soon!
