Bokeh Christmas tags and a Christmas card

Good morning!  It’s never too early to start your Christmas crafting, because the holiday has a habit of sneaking up on us.  Today I have 3 Bokeh Christmas tags and a Christmas card to help fire up your imagination.  All were stamped with one of the Bokeh Dots stamps as the background, and all were created after I stared at stamped scraps on my desk and said “I really need to do something with those”.  Let’s start with the card.

Cherry Cobbler cardstock is the base for this card, and the Bokeh dots and the pine boughs from Christmas Pines were stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink.

You may remember that I’m a silver person, not a gold person, but gold matches so well with this colour, so I added gold accents.  (That and I forgot that I have the Metallic Pearls on page 197 of the catalogue.)  I love this circular sentiment from Another Wonderful Year.  Punch it out, and you’re ready to go!

Moving onto the tags, the backgrounds have been stamped in Blueberry Bushel and Lovely Lipstick. I have found that it’s easier to stamp the starbursts than the dots.  You really need to make sure that your stamps are not over inked before stamping on paper.  If they’re over inked, you’ll end up with blobs instead of decipherable images.

I wanted some holiday words on the tags that weren’t too wide.  These were pulled from the Christmas Pines set, embossed with Versamark ink and embossing powder, and then cut down to size.  The Merry & Bright came from the Another Wonderful Year set.  It’s almost lost again the blue background, but since it’s mounted onto a piece of our *new* glimmer paper, the shine can’t be missed.  There’s more white in the starburst stamp, set you don’t have to worry as much about things disappearing on the background.

I was undecided on which cardstock to mount the Lovely Lipstick stamped image, and thought I’d give Shaded Spruce a go.  It coordinates quite well with the pinky-red colour of Lovely Lipstick.
