Hi Stampers! Today’s project is another card made with Bloom & Grow, this time coloured with Stampin’ Blends. It has a gorgeous, dynamic feel to it, and is stunning in person. Let’s have a closer look.
This card was loosely based on one found on Pinterest, and stamped by Krista Driessen. I say loosely because the original idea of splash of bright colour behind the flowers was hers, along with the bright colours of the flowers.
To create this card, you need a stamp set that has a ‘sploosh’ style stamp that you can use for the background. I used one of the stamps in the Dressed to Impress set, double-stamping the image to get the variation in colour. Make sure that you stamp your colour across a half to 2/3 of the panel.
Colouring the flowers and leaves is easy. I began with the flowers, colouring them in their entirety with my light Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blend. Dark Poppy Parade was added around the flower centres, and blended out with the light Blend. Add colour to the berries the same way, so that you have a hint of darker colour near the bottoms, where they meet the stems. Old Olive Stampin’ Blends were used on the leaves. So, you’re only using two colours on this card to create its dramatic impact.
Krista embossed the sentiment onto a piece of black cardstock. For whatever reason, I couldn’t get a super clean embossed image for the entire word. Trust me, I tried. Sometimes stamping is like that, and imperfections make a card super special.
The only items retiring on this card are the Bloom & Grow stamp set and the coordinating Budding Blooms dies. Scroll to the bottom for the full list of supplies needed to create today’s card.
